Wine Enthusiast review: Lapis Luna Zinfandel opens to lush blueberry, plum and blackberry cobbler leading to a smooth and juicy finish. Rich, dark and enticing. - Nicole Walsh
Wine Folly: pp 189-190 says red Zinfandel are a fruit-forward wine. It's a bold wine loved for it's jammy fruit and smoky, spicy notes. Turkish, Moroccan, and Arabic cuisine bring out the cinnamon-like spices.
My Review: Fruity smell (dark fruits) with peppery spices mixed in. My first sip was smooth and very pleasant. Balanced tannins with undertones of leather and earthiness. The smokey black fruit gave the perfect perception of sweetness. Pleasant to drink on it's own, and even better when the meal arrived.
Food Pairing: Paired with a crisped porkchop and Caesar salad - and was the recommended pairing on the menu. Perfect Recommendation.
